I no longer speak NBA

I would like to take this oppurtunity to say that I probably have never had as much fun watching basketball than I did this year. That said, I no longer wish to speak of that game, invented by Mr Naismith, for a long time.
We instead splinter off and are no longer a trio of chants and cat calls that echo in unison something so hate-filled and bile-riffic, but turn into a group of lopsided envy and wrath. Thus we enter the next realm...hello NFL.

side note: Cowboys 5
Bills 0

Suspensions

19 May 2006

RE:RE:RE:GO MAVS GO (or...I STILL HATE THE SPURS)

Ok, I have seen the video. Terry is guilty and according to the letter of the NBA law, he should be suspended.

That being said, let me also make it very clear that yes I am disappointed in the situation, but I fully support Terry and the Mavs. I am an unapologetically homer and I am rationally choosing to be irrational on this suspension issue. I can do this and it feels appropriate because Terry only did what I have been asking the Mavs to do to for years now... Kick that SOB in the jimmy.

So, forget that Finley was greatness as a Mav for many years, and boo him vehemently now because HE IS A SPUR. Period. And while you are at it, boo the rest of the Spurs.

RE: GO Mavs GO.

Well it has just been decided by the league. Jason Terry is suspended for game 6 for allegedly punching Finley in the coconuts during the mad chase for the ball in the last 3.6 seconds of game 5.

Two thought here.
1) FUCKING SHIT. FUCK THE SPURS. FUCK FINLEY. FUCK THE LEAGUE. AND MOST DEFINITELY, FUCK YOU DAVID STERN.

2) I need to be an adult and withhold judgment until I have seen the footage that the league used to make its decision. Perhaps this is warranted...

BUT, the dude who nut twisted Chris Kaman in round one was only fined something like 10K and didn't receive and suspension time. Is this fair?

Bottom line, MY HATRED FOR THE SPURS HAS JUST EXPONENTIALLY GROWN EVEN LARGER. Tomorrow, I will surely raise a glass and say my new favorite toast, DIE SPURS DIE.

Off season

Here 's what I want to ask. The NFL draft day approaches and I'm thinkin about our boys in Dallas (no talking Greg). If we look at this off season "statistically" and not "emotionally" it seems like one of our best yet. With the signing ofTerrell, Vaderjachobble, some that escape me and the hangings on off Keith Davis who I think should a good ability in the backfield. I don't remember any year going into the draft thinking wow, this is pretty wide open. We "can" go get the best player that the 18th pick will allow and not be stuck to pick out of neccessity. I still realize that our QB is old and senial on occasion with his choices on the field and now a wideout who I still can't really come to grips with yet, but what has this this offseason meant for the boys? Offensive line gonna pull thru and pony up with no Allen? What direction is pertinent at this juncture in the cowboy legacy?
--Greg I know you can respond to this without getting nasty...
Nick, Ryan--gimme the score.

RE: Perhaps this has been covered, but I feel I must say something.

This started out as a comment and just ballooned into another post.

I just heard that ESPN is going to have a Barry Bonds TV show, Bonds on Bonds.

Dr. NO
As far as the TV station, ESPN is trading its objective newscoverage in order to line the pockets of the "empty suit". In order to accomplish this, and you are right on, turn the station into MTV. The original goal of MTV was to play videos and report on news in the music industry. Both goals have since been domoted to "nice-to-have" bullet points in case they have time one day. MTV's goal now is to make money in entertainment - NOT to have a music station. See: Osbornes, Beavis and Butthead, The Real World, etc.; and notice the almost complete absense of videos during any normal time that someone not stoned would actually watch.

So ESPN is trading its sports soul, and following this same path. Unfortunately we only have ourselves to blame. People have to watch this crap to make a demand enough to boost ratings to a point where advertising dollars outweigh that of a normal sports program.

Nobody wants all music all the time. Nobody, apparently, wants all sports all the time. This is the entertainment world we live in.
